Welcome to Sydenham Rugby Club
Situated in the south eastern area of Christchurch, the majority of our members come from Barrington, Sydenham, Opawa area’s through to the port hills.
Members of the club come from various ethnic backgrounds and range from ages 5-70. Given our huge catchment area there is a mixture of socio-economic backgrounds which makes us very diverse.
The purpose of Sydenham Rugby Football Club is to provide organised sport for our 26 teams or 450 players. We as a club want to be more than just a successful rugby club.
Our aim is to promote community spirit. We give local south Christchurch people the opportunity to participate in sport within a supportive environment that fosters strong family values.
In order to manage these 26 teams we have a dedicated volunteer base that ensures each week the teams are able to take to the field and play the game they love.
